Shen Jingdong was born in Nanjing in1965. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts of the Nanjing Arts Institute in 1991, where he majored in printmaking. Shen worked at Battlefront Culture Troupe before and his cartoonized soldiers are like ceramic toys. They stand quietly looking at the audience, making them to consider soldiers’self-being which exists beyond their social responsibility.
