THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The IDA Juries have finalized this year's annual Design Awards winner’s selections

PROFESSIONAL AWARDS: SILVER
LOS ANGELES, May 08 2017 Los Angeles, Melissa Wu (Creative director), Wang TingXin (Artist) OIC CONCEPT LIMITED of Hong Kong was awarded: SILVER Prize in Print Competition for the JIAN XIAN Project.
IDA honorary juries examined over 1000 entries submitted by architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products, and graphics from 52 countries throughout the world. After final decisions had been made, the jury rewarded the best professional and emerging designers for their achievements in terms of design, creativity, usability and innovation. Judging was a rigorous process, with winners receiving publication of their work in the International Design Awards Book of Designs. The coveted IDA Trophy will be awarded to all Designer of the Year title winners at the official biennial International Design Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Project with Contemporary Chinese ink artist Wang TinXin will showcase representative works from her thematic pieces in her first solo exhibition “Jian Xian” in Hong Kong. Favouring black Xuan paper as her painting medium, the artist believes this opens a realm of imagination and creativity for her. The presence of gold colour is also found in many of her paintings, in which she considered the shade as the best depiction of light. The design is with dark paper and gold paint.

The 14th Factory: An Experience Beyond Art
Experience a mythic universe created through video, installation, sculpture, sound, paintings, and live performance during The 14th Factory, billed as “an experience beyond art.” After the opening on March 11, you can marvel at this enormous multi-media art installation daily except Mondays through April 30.
The 14th Factory takes place in a space in Lincoln Heights, near Downtown Los Angeles, that was once a deserted industrial warehouse. Merging various pop-culture elements from punk music, sic fi, graphic novels, and film, it’s an enlightening re-examination of society and history, with a focus on connections between East and West.
The brainchild of Hong Kong-based British artist Simon Birch, The 14th Factory aims to reenergize art as a form of social engagement by transforming and energizing underused urban spaces. Tickets are $13.50 to $15 and can be purchased via the link below.

Wang TingXin’s Solo Exhibition
OIC CONCEPT is pleased to present Wang TingXin's solo exhibition, displaying more than ten pieces of her artworks. Wang is pioneer of the contemporary Chinese ink and colour painting. This is the first solo exhibition for Wang's art in Hong Kong, bringing together representative works from the artist's various thematic pieces.

Organized by Dialogue Experience SILENCE, 1010 Presents: Silence Le Cabaret is world’s first silence theatrical dining experience with interactive performance led by a professional team of Deaf performers, providing unique premium impactainment (impact plus entertainment) experience to guests.
A Night of Masquerade in Silence
Set in the theme of 1920s, guests dressed in 20s are appreciated. Guests will be welcomed with a cocktail session where they will also design and decorate their own unique masquerade mask. Followed by entering the banquet hall in complete silence, guests shall enjoy a three-course dinner prepared by AMMO along with interactive performance by the Deaf where every guest will become part of the show.

Asia Contemporary Art Show
See over 2,000 unique and stunning artworks at the Asia Contemporary Art Show at the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, May 23rd to 26th. The Show focuses on original paintings, limited editions, sculpture and photography from young, emerging and mid-career artists – all available at reasonable prices.
